The Alternative Education Program at Dodge City Public Schools is designed to meet the needs of students who are not succeeding in the traditional setting or adult learners seeking a high school diploma. Students receive a variety of learning opportunities leading to graduation. While each Alternative Education Program is different, they share characteristics identified in the research as common to successful alternative schools: -
Digital Learning Program designed to meet the needs of the individual student. -
Clearly stated mission and discipline code. -
Flexible school schedule with community involvement and support. -
School staff having high expectations for student success. -
Therapeutic Education with an emphasis on Mental Health. The Alternative Education Program includes: Dane Hansen Youthville School (grades 4th -12th), S.T.R.I.D.E (Success Through Responsive, Individualized Digital Education), Therapeutic Education Center, Adult Education, Project C.H.O.I.C.E, S.T.P.
