Miss Kansas shares her impact initiative with Dr. Dierksen and USD 443 Board of Education

We were thrilled that Miss Kansas 2022 made an official visit to Dr. Dierksen, USD 443 Board members and attending audience on Monday evening.  Ayanna Hensley, a DCHS 2019 graduate, shared why her impact initiative is ACEs Low: Overcoming Adverse Childhood Experiences.  She encouraged our district leaders and educators to remember that often they are the lifeline to students dealing with trauma homelife situations. Many times school is the stabilizing factor in their lives.

Throughout her year-of-service, Ayanna will travel throughout the state working closely with the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kansas, and with the Kansas Department of Transportation providing education and learning more about individuals for whom she will advocate during her year as Miss Kansas.

Ayanna will represent Kansas at the 2022 Miss America Competition at the Mohegan Sun Resort in Uncasville, Connecticut, later this year.
