Academic Enhancement Plan - First adopted Fall 2001.

  • The Academic Enhancement Plan seeks to continuously improve student achievement every year by focusing on 5 key components of learning.

    Reading
    Goal
    To ensure all students are successful learners by improving literacy and reading skills.

    Measurement
    The district will increase the number of students reading at or above the proficient level by five percent (5%) annually.

    Mathematics
    Goal
    To ensure all students are successful learners by increasing problem-solving and critical thinking skills in mathematics.

    Measurement
    The district will increase the number of students at or above proficient level in mathematics problem solving by five percent (5%) annually.

    Writing
    Goal
    To ensure all students communicate effectively in writing by increasing skills in the Six Traits of Writing.

    Measurement
    The district will increase the number of students writing at or above proficient level by five percent (5%) annually.

    Diversity
    Goal
    To ensure all students are successful learners, regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, or socioeconomic status.

    Measurement
    The district will increase the number of students at or above the district mean proficiency level in reading, mathematics, and write by five percent (5%) annually until each subgroup achieves at or above the mean of the general student population.

    Technology
    Goal
    To provide students and staff with appropriate and equal access to current technology resources to enhance instruction and student achievement and support continued professional development and technical support.

    Measurement
    The district will provide hardware, software, and connectivity resources sufficient to support and enhance the instructional program, communication, and information management needs of the district.
