Dodge City USD 443 Welcomes Patrick Crowdis as Associate Superintendent of Business

We are pleased to announce that Patrick Crowdis has been selected as the new Associate Superintendent of Business and Operations for USD 443. Crowdis will assume his new role with USD 443 on July 1, 2025 following the retirement of Simeon “Hammer” Russell.

Mr. Crowdis began his career as a science teacher, football coach and track coach at Nickerson High School, later holding similar roles at Gardner Edgerton High School.  From 2007 to 2009, he served as Assistant Principal and Activities Director at McPherson Middle School before becoming the Middle and High School Principal for Spearville USD 381, a position he led from 2009 to 2019. He then joined Dodge City – USD 443 for one year before accepting the Superintendent position at Hoisington Schools, where he currently serves.

Crowdis earned his Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Emporia State University in 2003 and his Bachelor of Science in Psychology from McPherson College in 1997.  He and his wife, Kristi (Strong) Crowdis, originally from Spearville, have two children, Kynlie and Grady.

In his free time, Patrick enjoys reading, walking the family dog Sub, watching football at all levels, traveling and exploring new experiences.  Regarding his return to USD 443, Crowdis said, “I am personally excited to return to the Dodge City Team, and be a part of the great work that takes place every day within USD 443.

Jason Scheck, Associate Superintendent of Human Resources, shared about Crowdis’s appointment, stating, “Patrick’s expertise will help us ensure the best possible learning environment for our students and staff. We are excited to welcome Patrick to the team and look forward to the impact he will make in our district.”

Dr. Dierksen, Superintendent of Schools, stated, “Patrick is a fantastic addition to our leadership team. His understanding of our community makes this a perfect opportunity to further strengthen our district in every area.”
