We are pleased to announce that Ty Thomas has been selected as the new Assistant Principal for Comanche Middle School. He will assume his role on July 1, 2025.
Ty Thomas grew up here in Dodge City, KS. He attended Sacred Heart Cathedral School from kindergarten through 8th grade and graduated Dodge City High School in 2010.
Ty attended Fort Hays State University where he played baseball while earning Bachelor of Science degrees in Education and Health and Human Performance. He then went on to earn his Master of Science in Education Administration from Emporia State University in 2021.
Ty loves spending time with his family. His wife Edith is a Kindergarten teacher at Northwest Elementary School. They have two sons Gabriel who will be a Sophomore at DCHS, and Orlando who will be a Freshman at DCHS. They also have a baby due in July.
Professionally, Mr. Thomas has been an assistant principal and athletic director for one year, and a classroom teacher & coach for 9.5 years. When asked about his new position Ty said, “I look forward to working with the incredible families and dedicated staff at Comanche Middle School. I’m passionate about empowering students to recognize their potential and supporting them as they work hard to achieve their goals.”
Dr. Rachael Webb shared, “Our team at CMS is thrilled to welcome Ty as our new assistant principal. We are confident that his energy and knowledge will be a significant asset to our leadership team and will positively impact the experiences of our students, staff and parents at CMS.”
