USD 443 Finalizes Teacher Contract, Leads the Way in Pay and Benefits

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
RE: USD 443 Finalizes Teacher Contract, Leads the Way in Pay and Benefits
Dodge City Public Schools is pleased to announce that it has reached an agreement with the teacher’s bargaining
unit and finalized the contract for the 2025–2026 school year.
Under the new agreement, the teacher workday will be 6 hours and 50 minutes for 183 days, with a new base
salary of $51,750. This positions Dodge City Public Schools as a leader in teacher compensation not only within
the area, but also across the region and state.
In addition to competitive salaries, the district will continue to provide an exceptional benefits package, which
includes:
• Fully paid single medical coverage
• Up to six weeks of paid emergency leave (opt-in)
• Leave buy-back at retirement
• Opportunities for tuition reimbursement
• Many other supports designed to value and invest in educators
While we are pleased that an agreement has been reached, our focus does not end here.
We remain committed to working together to find ways to increase student instructional time in order to
positively impact student success. To advance this work, the district is moving forward with a task force
comprised of teachers, parents, classified staff, administration, and community members. This group will engage
in thoughtful discussion about the steps needed to ensure that every student has the support, resources, and
time they need to succeed.
Dodge City Public Schools will continue to prioritize collaboration, accountability, and student-centered decision
making as we look toward the future.
Superintendent Jason Scheck added: “We are deeply grateful for our certified teachers and their commitment to
our students, families, and community.” “This agreement reflects our strong commitment to valuing teachers,
supporting their well-being, and ensuring that our students have the very best educators in their classrooms.”
