District and Teachers' Association Reach Early Agreement for 2026-2027 School Year

We are pleased to announce that our Negotiations Team has successfully reached an agreement for the upcoming 2026–2027 school year. Thanks to the hard work and dedication of both our teachers' association (DCNEA) and district leadership, this agreement was finalized early in the summer, well ahead of the return to school.
The successful outcome is a direct result of thoughtful conversations, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to our students and staff. Throughout the process, both teams engaged in meaningful discussions, asked important questions, and worked collaboratively to find solutions that support our educators while ensuring the long-term success of our district.
"While we may not have agreed on every issue, we consistently approached each conversation with professionalism and a shared desire to do what is best for students and staff," Tara Shraeder, Executive Director of Human Resources, noted. "That spirit of collaboration made all the difference."
Ultimately, this final agreement reflects the high value our district places on attracting, supporting, and retaining top-tier educators. We extend our deepest gratitude to the entire negotiations team for their professionalism, willingness to listen, and steadfast dedication to finding common ground for the future of our schools.
