The conference focuses on evidence-based family engagement strategies, culturally responsive practices, and collaborative community school models that improve student learning, attendance, and well-being.

Progress will be monitored quarterly on the program’s family engagement logs. A final impact analysis will be reviewed at the end of the school year.

    • Initial learning for Student & Family Engagement staff will take place at the Institute for Educational Leadership’s 2026 National Community Schools and Family Engagement Conference) on May 26-29, 2026.
• INITIAL IMPLEMENTATION ACTIVITY – DATE(S)
  • How/when will adults be supported in integrating new learning into their professional practice (e.g. lesson planning)?
    • Student & Family Engagement staff will be asked to implement engagement strategies chosen by the First semester of 2026-2027 semester. The Student & Family Engagement office will provide support to school liaisons during implementation through liaison training modules, family engagement tool kits, structured listening sessions for buildings who request it, and 1:1 support as needed.
• ADVANCED IMPLEMENTATION ACTIVITY – DATE(S)
  • What job-embedded implementation support will be provided?
    • Student & Family Engagement staff will align engagement strategies with district goals for family engagement, attendance and culturally responsive practice to ensure consistency across all schools. Conference participants will provide coaching and support for new liaisons to strengthen family engagement district-wide

  • Student & Family Engagement staff will be encouraged to attend conference sessions focused on:
  • Community school frameworks
  • Family engagement systems
  • Building the capacity and capability of Liaisons in their role
  • Strategic engagement planning
  • Student & Family Engagement staff will be asked to share key takeaways from conference sessions and determine at least one new family engagement strategy gained from conference sessions that can be implemented in their building.
• BENCHMARK 2 – ADULT IMPLEMENTATION OUTCOMES

  • How will you know this implementation is occurring?
    • Student & Family Engagement staff & liaisons will implement their chosen engagement strategy by the First semester of 2026-2027 semester. Event attendance data will be gathered and analyzed and compared to the previous year’s event to determine the effectiveness of the newly implemented strategy.
• FINAL OUTCOME(S) – IMPACT ON STUDENTS
• What improvement do you expect to see in specific student behaviors &/or skills? How will you measure progress?
  • As a result of this conference and the continued partnership between local businesses, community organizations and the Student & Family Engagement office, we expect to see that liaisons are demonstrating the ability to engage families in school events through effective communication and district-wide engagement practices. We expect that this will lead to higher participation rates and an increased capacity of our staff.
  • The intended final outcome is to demonstrate measurable increases in family engagement, strengthened community partnerships, and improved perceptions of program effectiveness as reflected in Migrant Program survey data:
    • Family Engagement Participation: Increase documented family participation in school/program events (workshops, meetings, family nights, etc.) by at least 20–30% over the current baseline within the program year.
• Community/Organizational Partnerships:
  • Expand active, sustained partnerships with community organizations by 5–10 new or deepened partnerships, defined as partners who contribute at least one direct service, event, or resource engagement per semester
