  • CLASS is a federal Office of Head Start program requirement.
  • Head Start classroom teachers will be observed by National CLASS raters as part of the five-year grant Head Start Review.

  • District Goal A.2.1: Vertically align PreK-12 instructional practices that are culturally relevant and that meet the needs of the students we serve.
  • BBEEC Program T/TA Goal 4: CLASS: Continued utilization of training for the CLASS, 2nd Edition model, to observe all 0-5 staff. The utilization of CLASS as part of Office of Head Start federal grant requirements in Education and Disability workplans.

  • ACTIVITY 1
    • The Education/Disability Specialist will attend a Hybrid Virtual CLASS Learning Model for infant, toddler, and Pre-K.
  • ACTIVITY 2
    • The Education/Disability Specialist will complete an overview of CLASS training for new 0-5 teachers, 0-5 teachers, and all supporting staff.
  • ACTIVITY 3
    • The Education/Disability Specialist will complete (4)- (20) minute written observations, with (15) minute rating on all 0-5 classroom teachers.

  • BENCHMARK 1
    • CLASS observations have proven to positively impact student outcomes by identifying teacher effectiveness.
  • BENCHMARK 2
    • Bright Beginnings staff members will identify the CLASS tool and understand the impact of CLASS, 2nd edition scores on teacher effectiveness and student relationships.
  • FINAL OUTCOME(S)
    • Teachers will have observation data to self-identify classroom needs. Program will oversight as per OHS
