    • Outline the Head Start eligibility verification process;
    • Identify when Head Start and Early Head Start eligibility re-verification is required;
    • List the elements of an acceptable community needs assessment;
    • List factors influencing recruitment strategies and selection criteria;

  • This year Bright Beginnings will complete the 2023-2024 Head Start Focus Area 2 Program Year Review. Information is relevant to identifying ERSEA compliance measures of the program overseen by the Family Community Specialist, The Enrollment Clerk, and two identified Family Advocates.

    • Part 1: To assist key leadership members with support for Head Start standards, and local program policies and procedures.
    • Part 2: ERSEA training will occur via webinars and conference attendance for identified staff to remain compliant with Head Start Standards.

  • The program principal/director identified attending staff members; the newly hired Family Community Specialist, the enrollment clerk and two identified family advocates who assist in the ERSEA process.
  • Training is needed to identify updates in program performance standards in relation to Bright Beginnings Work Plans in the area of ERSEA; Eligibility, Recruitment, Selection, Enrollment, and Attendance.

  • ACTIVITY 1
    • Identified members will complete attendance of virtual live session trainings.
  • ACTIVITY 2
    • Identified members will conference with the director/principal and management team to pinpoint any revisions to the 2023-2024 Work Plans in the area of ERSEA, Recruitment of Children and Family Engagement.
